Filming of "The Chef's Kitchen"

A week and a half ago I had the pleasure of showing my work and making an appearance on "The Chef's Kitchen." This is a nationally syndicated cooking show that features world-class chefs with their tips and techniques. If you can't find it in your local listings, you can view episodes on http://www.hulu.com/. The director and my friend, Steven Horn, and his kind and professional staff made me feel completely comfortable in an atmosphere that is obviously different from what I am used to!
Many thanks to Bonnie Harrison of Bonnie Harrison Photography (http://www.bharrisonphotography.com/) for the photos and the support.
The next post shows the finished images of two of the paintings I took to the show.

"Copper Bowl with Apples" and "Sea Bass with Leeks"

Previously I have posted work-in-progress photos of these two paintings that I worked on especially for "The Chef's Kitchen." Here they are in finished form.

I am nearing the end of this 24x36 inch painting. As you can see it will be going into a float frame. John White, a picture framer from Cape Elizabeth, made this one for me.
I am making some last minute adjustments to this Seabass painting.

Here is a painting that I have been working on, off and on, for the past 6 months. I am hoping to get it finished up this spring. I used a very similar image for another painting a couple of years ago but found myself drawn again to the symbolism here.

still life with pan of apples

Here is another image of my progress with this still life. Most of the underpainting is covered with some color. Chroma and value is what I will be fine tuning next. The wall paper will be the real challenge.
